Nordic Spa in Alsace
A spa designed as a complete experience
The Nordic Spa at the Domaine du Hirtz is not just a place to relax: it is an experience in its own right, designed to help you slow down, breathe and reconnect with what really matters.
In our hotel residence and spa in the Haut-Rhin, wellbeing is not experienced within closed walls, but in the heart of nature, in the Vosges mountains, in an unspoilt forest setting.
As soon as you arrive at the Domaine du Hirtz, hotel residence and spa in Alsace, the tone is set. The pace changes, everyday markers fade away, and your body naturally adapts to a different tempo.
You are invited to take your time, listen to your sensations and enjoy each stage without constraints.

The Nordic spirit, in the heart of the Vosges
Inspired by Nordic traditions and its founder’s travels in Quebec, the Spa at the Domaine du Hirtz is based on a simple yet powerful principle: alternating hot and cold, combined with rest and immersion in nature.
The spaces are organised around this principle of thermo-relaxation, where hot baths, saunas and relaxation areas interact with fresh air, cold water and the landscape.
The forest is everywhere. It frames the circuits, accompanies the breaks, soothes the eye and prolongs the effect of the treatments offered at our spa hotel in Alsace.
Nothing is forced. You choose your pace, your circuit and your breaks. The spa at the Domaine du Hirtz in Wattwiller does not impose a method: it invites you to listen to your body.

A place of wellbeing that is accessible and respectful

Whether you come for a few hours, a full day or as part of a stay at the estate, the experience remains smooth, clear and caring.
The spaces are generous, movement between them is natural and the atmosphere deliberately peaceful. Silence is never heavy; it is gentle and enveloping, conducive to letting go.
You share this place with other visitors who have the same intention: simply to take care of themselves.

Nordic Spa circuit & facilities
Altitude Experience: A complete circuit to get into the rhythm of the Nordic Spa, alternating heat, cold and rest. Facilities include a eucalyptus hammam, saunas, showers (Nordic and sensory), relaxation areas, a hot tub and a mineral area with a salt wall.
Eucalyptus hammam: Gentle, fragrant moist heat that helps you relax, breathe more deeply and prepare your body for the hot/cold contrasts.
Saunas at 65°C & 80°C: Two temperatures so you can choose your intensity. The wood, the dry heat and the silence create deep relaxation, ideal before a rest or a cold plunge.
Nordic shower: A cool shower (10–15°C) that awakens, tones and restores energy, gently, in the spirit of the Nordic ritual.
“4 seasons” sensory shower: An immersive experience playing with water, light and sensations, to vary the intensity and prolong the effect of the circuit.
Outdoor hot tub: A hot bath (34–36°C) to release tension and let your body settle, with nature all around you as a living backdrop.
Mineral area & salt wall: A space that invites you to slow down and breathe, with a Himalayan salt wall and nebulisation, in a soothing mineral atmosphere.
Nordic baths: Three individual hot baths (34–36°C) for private relaxation at your own pace, amid nature, warmth and deep breathing.
Balneotherapy pool: A lively indoor pool (massage jets, waterfalls, counter-current swimming, balneo grotto), designed to loosen the body and prolong the relaxing effect of the water.
Cold plunge: The balancing point of the ritual: a brief, invigorating plunge that tightens, awakens and heightens the feeling of wellbeing when you return to the heat or to rest.
Forest sauna: A 90°C sauna set right among the trees, for a more intense, truly “open-air” experience, reserved for adults (“no textile” area).
Nordic grotto: An area dedicated to contrasts, with a hammam (50°C), shower, ice fountain and mineral area with salt wall, also “no textile” (adults only).
Ice fountain: A crisp, stimulating sensation that completes the hot/cold alternation, particularly enjoyable after a sauna or hammam.
Barrel huts: Relaxation pods (up to 6 people) facing the forest, where you can truly unwind between two facilities, without noise or hurry.

Outdoor area & nature experiences
Terrace, barefoot trail & “catamaran” net: An outdoor space to rediscover simple sensations: walking, feeling, stretching, looking. Your body starts moving again in a different, gentle way.
Panoramic relaxation bubble: A heated cocoon (approx. 26°C) with a view, to prolong your rest and keep that enveloping warmth, even when it is cool outside.
Two-zone swim spa: A water area designed for variety: counter-current (28–30°C) and hot tub (34–36°C), to alternate gentle effort and relaxation.
Brazier / campfire: An outdoor corner that brings people together, warms and calms, perfect for ending the circuit gently, with the crackling fire and the forest all around.

Treatments & experiences “at extra cost”
Treatment & massage rooms: Treatments and massages by appointment, carried out by qualified practitioners with a tailor-made approach: you come to relax, rebalance or recover, depending on what you need at the time.
Massage grotto: A space dedicated to treatments, designed as an intimate interlude, so you can experience your massage as a true break, away from everyday rhythms.
Sensory observatory & massaging flotation beds: A deeply enveloping experience, by reservation, with two massaging flotation beds: a short, intense session, ideal for deep relaxation.
Herbal tea room / relaxation area: A quiet moment to reconnect with yourself between two facilities, rehydrate, prolong the feeling of rest and keep a gentle pace.

Dining at the spa
The Nordic Spa is fully part of life at the Domaine du Hirtz.
After a circuit of baths, you can extend the experience at La Table des Cerfs, the spa restaurant, designed as a natural continuation of your wellness break.
Your body relaxes, your mind stays calm, and time keeps that rare quality you feel after a real break.
The Nordic Spa at the Domaine du Hirtz thus becomes a point of balance: between activity and rest, between inside and outside, between caring for the body and calming the mind.

Welcoming children
Because wellbeing knows no age, the Domaine du HIRTZ welcomes young and old alike in a peaceful, warm and natural environment, ideal for reconnecting together.
Here, it is not just a swimming pool or playtime: it is a family relaxation experience, open to children aged 5 and over, and supervised in keeping with the serenity of the place. Nordic bath, gentle massage, silence, nature… everything is designed to give them a taste of calm and harmony.
Our family wellness gift boxes are the perfect opportunity to offer a different kind of break, away from the hustle and bustle, to enjoy together.
